BIO
Mr. Godo will be making 2024-2025 his 9th complete school year as the Athletic Administrator at Mt. Ararat High School. He replaced Todd Sampson in the position in the Spring of 2016. Mr. Godo has an extensive background in sports administration, both in education and in professional sports.
After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2000, Mr. Godo began his career working in professional golf administration, first interning for the Michigan Section of the PGA of America and then being hired as the Director of Junior Golf / Communications for the South Florida Section of the PGA of America in Coral Springs, FL. He served as the tournament director for the SFPGA Junior Golf Tour, was the Assistant Tournament Director for Section activities and also supported the SFPGA GolfPass Tournament Program. Mr. Godo was a certified USGA Rules of Golf Official and even worked the first stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School at the TPC at Heron Bay in Parkland, FL in 2004.
After moving to Maine in 2005, he assumed the role of Account Executive / Vice President of Ticket Sales for the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League in Portland, ME. In this role, he was responsible for maintaining and growing season ticket accounts, group ticket sales & furthering community relationships in the Greater Portland area through corporate sponsorships.
In 2008, Mr. Godo began his transition over into the field of education, serving as an Ed Tech and later student teaching at Lisbon High School while completing his Teacher Certification Program at the University of New England. He also coached baseball & basketball at P.W. Sugg Middle School (also in Lisbon) during this time.
Just prior to coming to Mt. Ararat, Mr. Godo taught Social Studies for 7 years at Westbrook High School. He held various leadership roles within WHS, including serving as the 9th Grade Team Leader for his last three years, and also coached Varsity Golf and Freshman Baseball during his time with the Blue Blazes. Mr. Godo was a member of the MTA Athletic Department Staff from 2014-2016, serving as the Eagles Freshman Baseball Coach and Assistant Coach for the Varsity Baseball team, while supporting with administrative site management for various athletic events.
Mr. Godo is a proud member of the MSAD 75 school community as a resident of Topsham, along with his wife, Jennah, and his two daughters and one son. When he's not visible at MTA athletic events, he most enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf (when time allows) and following his childhood pro sports teams from Detroit. He is most passionate about his alma mater, the Michigan Wolverines. GO BLUE! |
